Anjou (or d’Anjou) pears are bell shaped with thin red or green skin and firm ivory-coloured flesh. They are sweet, juicy, and delicious both raw and cooked. Add Anjou pears to your next cheese tray, or poach and serve with ice cream or chocolate cake.
Wash thoroughly under fresh, cool running water, even if you plan to peel them.
Ripen at room temperature. Refrigerate at 4 °C (40 °F) or cooler for up to three days.
Wash your hands with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds before and after handling food.
