Always popular, guacamole is a great basic recipe to have in your repertoire. PC Frozen Cilantro makes it a cinch! Although avocado is high in fat, it is heart-healthy monounsaturated fat.

Ingredients

2 ripe avocados
3 tbsp (45 mL) PC Fresh Frozen Chopped - Cilantro
1 tsp (5 mL) fresh lime juice
1/2 tsp (2 mL) ground PC Sea Salt Grinder

Instructions

  1. Slice avocados in half. Remove pits and scoop flesh into bowl. Using fork, lightly mash flesh. Add cilantro, lime juice and salt. Continue to mash with fork until fully combined and desired consistency is achieved. Makes about 1 cup (250 mL).
  2. Serve with PC Blue Menu Flaxseed Tortilla Chips or PC Blue Menu Sea Salt & Cracked Pepper Rice Chips, if desired.

 

Chef's Tips

Save the avocado pits and put them back in guacamole to prevent the dip from turning brown.
