Sautéed peppers and onions on sausage is a classic Italian sandwich combination . Use any colour pepper you prefer.

1 tbsp (15 mL) olive oil
1 large sweet red pepper, cut in julienne strips
1 onion, cut in julienne strips
1/4 tsp (1 mL) sea salt
1/8 tsp (0.5 mL) freshly ground black pepper
8 PC Fire Roasted Sweet Italian Fully Cooked Mini Pork Sausages
2 tbsp (25 mL) PC Sweet with Heat Prepared Mustard
8 PC Mini Ciabatta Sausage Pre-Sliced Buns


  1. Preheat barbecue to medium heat. In frying pan, heat oil over medium-high heat; cook peppers and onions for 10 minutes, stirring frequently, or until tender and lightly charred. Stir in salt and pepper.
  2. Place frozen sausages on grill. Cook uncovered for 10 to 12 minutes, turning frequently until done.
  3. Spread mustard over bottom halves of ciabatta buns. Add a sausage to each bun and top with pepper-onion mixture.
