Italian-style meatballs in thin but richly flavoured pan juices making a great buffet item for family gatherings.

1 tsp (5 mL) salt
1 tbsp (15 mL) PC Country Churned Butter - Unsalted
1 box PC Italian Beef Meatballs
2 cups (500 mL) onions chopped
1 cup (250 mL) red wine
1/4 tsp (1 mL) black pepper
1 cup (250 mL) beef stock


  1. In large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat; cook onions for 5 minutes or until tender.
  2. Stir in frozen meatballs, wine, salt, pepper and beef stock. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low. Cover and cook for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Transfer to a serving dish.

Chef's Tips

Most of the alcohol in the wine evaporates during cooking.
