We’ve lightened up chili by reducing the oil and using lean ground turkey. Hearty, but also heart-healthy!

Ingredients

1 tsp (5 mL) PC Splendido Extra Virgin Olive Oil - Cold Pressed
1 onion, chopped
1 sweet red pepper, chopped
1 lb (500 g) lean ground turkey
2 tbsp (25 mL) no name Chili Powder
1 bottle (700 mL) PC Pasta Sauce - Fire-Roasted Tomato
1 can (540 mL) no name White Kidney Beans, rinsed and drained

Instructions

  1. In large saucepan, heat oil over medium-high heat; cook onions and peppers until softened, about 3 to 4 minutes. Stir in turkey and chili powder; cook for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring to break up turkey. Stir in tomato sauce and beans. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to simmer and cook for10 minutes.
  2. Serve over cooked rice, if desired.

If you like a spicy chili, liven this up with PC Louisiana Hot Sauce.
