Kids love finger foods you can dunk into dipping sauces. This one combines two kid favourites- hot dogs and ketchup. They can even help you make these.

Ingredients

1 egg, beaten
1 sheet (half a 450 g pkg) PC Butter Puff Pastry thawed
8 PC Original Hot Dog Wieners
1/2 cup (125 mL) PC Tomato Ketchup

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Unroll puff pastry. Place pastry on cutting board. Place parchment paper it was packaged in on large baking sheet. Using pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut pastry in half. Cut each half into four equal rectangles. Cut each rectangle in half diagonally to make 16 triangles.
  3. Cut wieners in half crosswise. Place a wiener piece on short side of a pastry triangle and roll towards point. Repeat with remaining wieners and pastry. Place on prepared baking sheet with pastry points up. Brush with egg.
  4. Bake in centre of oven for 16 to 18 minutes or until pastry is golden. Transfer to platter; serve with ketchup.

Chef's Tips

They are quite hot, so let cool before serving to little ones.
