A quick and easy pasta for a weeknight. Evaporated milk adds wonderful creaminess to the sauce, as well as making this a good source of calcium with 260 mg per serving.

1 tbsp (15 mL) PC Splendido Extra Virgin Olive Oil - Cold Pressed
1 1/2 cups (375 mL) PC Blue Menu 100% Whole Grain Whole Wheat Rotini
1 onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp (5 mL) no name Italian-Style Seasoning
1 can (796 mL) no name All Purpose Crushed Tomatoes
1 can (385 mL) no name 2% Evaporated Milk


  1. In saucepan, heat oil over medium heat; cook onion, garlic and Italian-style seasoning for 5 minutes or until softened but not brown. Stir in tomatoes and juices and evaporated milk. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, or until thickened.
  2. Meanwhile, in large pot of boiling salted water, cook rotini for 9 to 11 minutes or until tender but firm. Drain.
  3. Toss sauce with cooked pasta. Serve immediately.


Chef's Tips

Substitute PC Blue Menu Whole Wheat Spaghetti.
