Our famous Memories of tamari garlic sauce, named after the region of Japan famous for its beef, is the perfect seasoning for steak.

Freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup (50 mL) PC MEMORIES OF Kobe Tamari Garlic Sauce
1/4 cup (50 mL) PC Mayonnaise - Made with Whole Eggs
1/2 tsp (2 mL) PC MEMORIES OF Kobe Tamari Garlic Sauce
2 T-bone steaks (about 12 oz/375 g each)

Instructions

  1. Preheat barbecue to medium-high.
  2. In shallow glass baking dish, pour 1/4 cup (50 mL) Memories sauce of steaks; turn to coat. Let stand 5 minutes.
  3. Place steaks on greased grill, discarding any sauce left in dish. Close lid. Cook for 4 minutes per side or until medium-rare. Transfer to serving platter. Tent with foil and let stand 5 minutes.
  4. In small bowl, stir together mayonnaise and 1/2 tsp (2 mL) Memories sauce.
  5. Sprinkle steaks with pepper and serve with mayonnaise-sauce mixture.

 

Chef's Tips

A steak cooked medium-rare will feel like the fleshy part between your thumb and index finger when you press it.
