This versatile compote can be served to baby for breakfast, lunch or dinner, depending on the accompaniments. For a change of pace from cinnamon, try a pinch of ground cardamom or nutmeg.

Ingredients

1 PC Organics Golden Delicous Apples , peeled, cored and thinly sliced
1 ripe pear, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
Pinch cinnamon
1 tbsp (15 mL) PC Fresh Churned Butter - Unsalted

Instructions

  1. Place apple, pear, cinnamon and 3 tbsp (45 mL) water in small saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes or until soft.
  2. Stir in butter. Remove from heat. For younger babies, use immersion blender to purée; for older babies, stir until slightly chunky. Makes about 1-1/3 cups (325 mL).
  3. Cool before serving to baby. Serve over baby cereal, oatmeal or stirred into yogurt.
